Emcyte PurePRP Hair Restoration

Hair loss is rarely just about hair. It’s about confidence, identity, and feeling like yourself again. My approach to hair restoration is medical, evidence based and realistic. Focused on improving scalp health and follicle function rather than promising overnight miracles. For PRP, I’ve chosen the Emcyte PurePRP system because it allows me to deliver PRP at a biological dose and quality that standard PRP systems simply cannot achieve.

Why Emcyte PurePRP for hair loss?

Not all PRP treatments are the same. Many commonly used PRP systems produce relatively low platelet concentrations — often around 1 billion platelets per tube.

With Emcyte PurePRP:

  • 60 mL treatments deliver approximately 10–12 billion platelets
  • 120 mL treatments can deliver approximately 20–25 billion platelets

This matters because hair follicles respond to dose. Higher platelet concentrations mean more growth factors, stronger cellular signalling, and a more effective regenerative environment.

In addition to platelets, Emcyte PurePRP is uniquely rich in:

  • Monocytes, which help regulate inflammation and reverse fibrotic change around follicles
  • Platelet‑derived exosomes, which support longer‑lasting regenerative signalling

How PurePRP supports hair regrowth

Once activated in the scalp, platelets release a range of growth factors including:

  • PDGF – supports follicle cell proliferation
  • VEGF – improves blood supply to follicles
  • EGF – supports follicular regeneration
  • TGF‑β – helps regulate inflammation

Monocytes within PurePRP can mature into M2 macrophages, which are particularly important for hair restoration. These cells help reduce chronic inflammation and fibrosis that contribute to follicle miniaturisation, creating a healthier scalp environment for regrowth.

This is why high‑dose, monocyte‑rich PRP is increasingly recognised as more effective than low‑dose PRP systems.

What hair concerns can be treated?

Emcyte PurePRP may be helpful for:

  • Androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern thinning)
  • Diffuse hair thinning
  • Early hair loss where follicles are still viable
  • Improving hair thickness, quality and density

PRP is not suitable for advanced hair loss where follicles are no longer present. This will be discussed honestly during consultation.

Treatment course

  • Typically three treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart
  • Early improvements often include shinier, thicker‑feeling hair
  • Fine new hairs may appear after the second treatment and thicken over time
  • A maintenance treatment at 6-12 months is often recommended

Results develop gradually over several months as follicle function improves.
