A personalised assessment to understand the causes of expression lines and ageing-related changes, with a focus on natural, long-term skin support.

Wrinkles and fine lines are a natural and expected part of the ageing process. They develop as the skin undergoes structural changes over time, influenced by a combination of intrinsic ageing and environmental exposure.
There are two primary types of wrinkles: dynamic lines and static lines. Dynamic lines appear with facial movement and are created by repeated contraction of the underlying muscles. These lines are most noticeable during expression. Static lines, on the other hand, are visible even when the face is at rest and represent more permanent changes within the skin’s structure.
Multiple factors contribute to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines, including gradual thinning of the dermis, loss of collagen and elastin, reduced hydration, UV exposure, pollution, smoking, stress and genetic predisposition. Over time, persistent muscle movement can cause dynamic lines to progress into deeper, static creases.
Wrinkle and fine line consultations in Sydney focus on understanding these contributing factors at an individual level. A detailed assessment is performed to evaluate skin quality, muscle activity, lifestyle influences and the degree of ageing changes present.

A personalised consultation with Dr Brandon explores both preventative strategies and long-term management options to soften existing lines, support dermal health and slow the progression of visible ageing in a conservative, natural-looking way.
